The Singing Circle: Postpartum Community Singing

A community singing program for postpartum mothers and their babies up to 9 months, rooted in peer-reviewed research and designed for every mother, regardless of musical experience.

Where healing happens in harmony.

This is a space where mothers have reported feeling like themself again. Come to find a community of other mothers who understand and also want to build a village, come to find yourself, and come to find a new way to connect to your baby.

    • 60-minute sessions, once per week

    • $250 for a 10 week program

    • Babies welcome, up to 9 months old. Please reach out if an older sibling will prohibit you from joining.

    • No musical experience required. Come as you are, and participate how you want each session, whether that’s swaying to the music, singing, humming, harmonizing, or just sitting. You are welcome.

    • Participation is limited. Reach out to Alyssa at alyssa@okfinearts.com to secure your spot.

  • Clinical research shows group singing increases overall wellbeing and accelerates recovery from postpartum depression faster than standard care alone - releasing oxytocin, reducing cortisol, and building the social bonds that new mothers desperately need. The effect is not just social, it’s neurological, hormonal, and deeply human.

    • This is a complementary program to standard care and therapies, making it a great resource for OBGYNs, midwives, doulas, therapists, counselors, and other first touch points for postpartum mothers.

    • While this program currently has an associated cost for postpartum mothers, our ultimate goal is eliminate the financial barrier with the help of sponsors or donors. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or donor, please reach out to Alyssa: alyssa@okfinearts.com.
